Detailed Information

BOOKING & AVAILABILITY

How far in advance should I book wedding special effects in Riviera Maya?

We recommend booking at least 3 to 6 months in advance, especially for peak season (November through April). Popular dates fill quickly. A 48-hour confirmation is available for last-minute requests, subject to availability.

How does the booking process work?

Share your wedding date, venue and the effects you are interested in via our contact form or WhatsApp. We prepare a personalized show proposal within 48 hours at no cost. Once approved, a contract is signed and a 50% deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due before the event.

Can I book multiple effects together?

Yes - most of our shows combine two or more effects. Cold sparks for the first dance, confetti for the grand entrance and aerial fireworks for the grand finale is one of our most popular combinations. Our team designs the full sequence as one coordinated show.

What happens if I need to cancel or change my date?

Our cancellation and date-change policy is detailed in the contract. We understand that wedding plans change - contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your new date subject to availability.

SAFETY & PERMITS

Are fireworks legal for weddings in Cancún and Riviera Maya?

Yes. Aerial fireworks are legal and widely used at destination weddings across Riviera Maya. All displays require a SEDENA permit and Protección Civil approval, both of which Special Events México manages on behalf of the couple.

Do cold sparks require a permit?

No. Cold sparks are not classified as pyrotechnics under Mexican law and require no government permit. This makes them faster to book and available at virtually any venue without prior approval.

Are your technicians certified?

Yes. All pyrotechnic operators hold valid SEDENA licenses. Special Events México carries full liability insurance for every event. Certificates are available on request for venue coordination purposes.

What safety measures are in place?

Every event includes a full safety inspection of the venue, a written safety diagram, defined safety perimeters for each effect, and dedicated certified operators. The team coordinates with your resort's security and F&B departments before every show.

VENUES & EFFECTS

Are fireworks allowed at beach and resort weddings in Cancún?

Yes - aerial fireworks and cold sparks are permitted at most beach resorts and private venues in Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Tulum. We handle all coordination with venue management and ensure full compliance with local regulations.

What is the difference between cold sparks and aerial fireworks?

Cold sparks produce a fountain of sparkling light that is safe for indoor use, requires no safety perimeter and leaves no smoke or residue. Aerial fireworks are outdoor displays that create large colorful explosions in the sky. Both create stunning visual moments - the right choice depends on your venue and vision.

What special effects work best for indoor ballroom weddings?

Cold sparks, CO₂ cryo jets, confetti cannons, laser SFX and photo booths 360° are all fully safe for indoor use. These effects create dramatic visual impact without smoke, fire risk or venue restrictions.

Do you provide services in Tulum and Playa del Carmen?

Yes - we serve the entire Riviera Maya corridor including Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Akumal. Contact us to confirm availability for your specific location and date.

Can you work at private villas and non-resort venues?

Yes. We work at beach resorts, private villas, haciendas, rooftop venues and corporate event spaces across Riviera Maya. Each venue is assessed individually for safety and permit requirements.

COORDINATION & PLANNING

Do you work with destination wedding planners?

Yes - we partner regularly with wedding planners, coordinators and venue teams across the Riviera Maya. We provide detailed technical specs, setup timelines and on-site coordination to ensure seamless integration with your event plan.

How do you coordinate with my DJ or MC?

We provide a full cue sheet showing the exact timing of every effect tied to your song or event timeline. On the night, our operator is in direct communication with your DJ or MC via radio or WhatsApp to ensure perfect synchronization.

How long does setup take?

Setup time varies by effect - cold sparks require approximately 30 minutes, aerial fireworks require 2 to 3 hours including safety perimeter setup. Setup is always coordinated with the venue team to avoid disrupting the event flow.

What happens if weather conditions are unfavorable on the night?

Special Events México always has a contingency plan including indoor-safe alternatives ready. The team monitors weather conditions in real time and notifies your planner immediately if adjustments are needed. Aerial fireworks may be rescheduled to earlier in the evening if conditions improve.
